Mix a teaspoon of cinnamon and a tablespoon of vanilla extract into your eggs and whisk together until it looks frothy.
Put egg wash onto both sides of your bread and place them into the heated frying pan.
Allow them to cook for a few minutes on each side until they are light brown. I've never timed it but i would say around 3-4 mins check the underside and if its lightly browned flip the french toast and allow the other side to brown.
And that's it! Put them on a plate and garnish them with your favorite toppings!
I grew up eating them with melted butter and sprinkled with sugar. My Miss Tinka likes them cut into strips with a side of syrup or powdered sugar for dipping. But don't limit yourself, you can add so many things to french toast! Honey, sprinkles, jelly, jam, apple butter... the possibilities are endless!
